Shakespeare Live! – Live broadcast from The Royal Shakespeare Company


Shakespeare LIVEOn  23th April 2016 we will mark Shakespeare’s birthday and the 400th anniversary of his death with a very special event – Shakespeare Live! From the RSC in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Hosted by David Tennant and screened live from Stratford-upon-Avon, this star-studded show celebrates Shakespeare’s plays and their enduring influence on music, dance, opera, musical theatre and comedy.

With an audience including the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) will bring together acclaimed actors from Dame Helen Mirren, Dame Judi Dench to Benedict Cumberbatch for a one-night extravaganza of Shakespeare-inspired works spanning genres from hip-hop to opera.

Pannonia Entertainment distributes this unique one-night-only event to cinemas across Hungary.

It includes: Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen, Joseph Fiennes, Meera Syal, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Al Murray, Alison Moyet, Noma Dumezweni, Ian Bostridge, Rufus Wainwright, Tim Minchin, Paapa Essiedu, Pippa Nixon, Alexandra Gilbreath, Akala (Hip Hop Shakespeare), The Royal Ballet, English National Opera, The Orchestra Of The Swan and Birmingham Royal Ballet!

The Royal Shakespeare Company is one of the world’s most recognised theatre companies. It is based in Shakespeare’s hometown of Straford-­‐upon-­‐Avon, where there has been a theatre dedicated to the Bard’s work for 100 years.
